Since 2016, MBRE’s building teams have continued to learn and grow their knowledge of security hardware and access through Glavin’s series of workshops. Their newest workshop, “Talking Access with the Tenant” was concise and included helpful worksheets to guide the user through documenting Who, When and How building occupants access various areas within their space. Many thanks to the Glavin team for sharing their best practices!

Thank you for hosting the Security Access Conference yesterday for 401’s team. Clearly, as we move from traditional keys and hardware into more high tech access control systems, your seminar becomes more relevant than ever. The need for Engineers/Security/Management to work together prior to the tenant moving in, will not only make their space safer and more secure but it will showcase our building’s level of professionalism in those critical first impression stages of a lease.
Additionally, the lack of “sales pitch” during this workshop goes a long way with me. The fact that your worksheet is completely void of any branding shows a sincere commitment to customer satisfaction that is pretty rare.

Thanks again for taking the time to meet with us and some of the facility members at the building. The work sheets you and your team provided are a great guide for future projects, as you stated in the meeting, these sheets give you a place to hold all the information needed to get a job done right and deliver it on time. The sheets and code for how doors are keyed alike or different makes it very easy to gather info and bring it to you and your team.

Thank you for taking the time to present the workshop “Talking Access with the Tenant,” to the management and engineering teams at AMA Plaza. The concise information you provided along with prescribed strategies to discuss access with the tenant and to demonstrate a customizable program, along with a practical worksheet for planning and record keeping, are invaluable tools for seasoned professionals as well as newcomers. One key aspect of the seminar for me was the concept of ensuring both electronic access and mechanical keying systems are approached with the same planning and record maintenance methodology. The information provided will be used to improve our communication with tenants, architects, and construction managers as well as to bring our building access program to the next level.

I attended an Access Conference workshop and found it to be extremely helpful and detailed. The worksheet provided really simplifies the task of compiling complex information. It’s easy to understand and very organized. They provided a conversation starter and suggested questions to ask tenants which I believe will really help us get all of the information we need from them. Tom is a great presenter and very passionate about what he does. I would highly recommend this workshop to any property manager that works with their tenants on security access.
